# Manage contributors (/docs/guides/developer-workspace/dev-environment/manage-contributors)

Contributors are users who can create and manage dev environments in your workspace. You add contributors by email address. Each contributor must already have a BullSequana AI account.

Add a contributor [#add-a-contributor]

1. Select **Manage Contributors** in the left sidebar.

2. In the **Contributors** section, enter the contributor's email address in the input field.

3. Select <kbd>Add</kbd>.

The contributor appears in the list and can now access your workspace. They can create, start, stop, and delete dev environments within it.

Remove a contributor [#remove-a-contributor]

1. Select **Manage Contributors** in the left sidebar.
2. Find the contributor in the list.
3. Select <kbd>Remove</kbd> next to their email address.

Removing a contributor revokes their access immediately. Any dev environments they created continue to exist in your workspace.

What contributors can do [#what-contributors-can-do]

Contributors have the same dev environment permissions as you within the workspace. They can:

* Create, start, stop, and connect to dev environments
* Access shared data volumes attached to dev environments
* View all dev environments in the workspace

Contributors cannot add or remove other contributors. Only the workspace owner can manage the contributors list.

Troubleshooting [#troubleshooting]

**The email address is not accepted.** The user must have a BullSequana AI account before you can add them. Ask them to sign in to the platform at least once, then try again.

**A contributor cannot see the workspace.** Ask the contributor to sign out and sign back in. Permission changes take effect at the next login.
