Deployment notes

Loki deploys in distributed mode in the grafana-loki namespace at sync wave 10 in the common tier. Core components (ingester, querier, distributor, compactor, index-gateway) run with a replication factor of 3. The ingester is auto-raised to three replicas to match the replication factor. Log chunks are stored in the Rook Ceph RGW S3 backend with 30-day retention.

Interacts With

  • Grafana, which uses Loki as the log data source.
  • Grafana Alloy, which forwards Kubernetes logs into Loki.
  • Rook Ceph, which provides S3-compatible object storage for Loki log chunks through RGW.
